Profile[]

Background[]

Eldin is a young boy who resides in Parcelyte, alongside his mother, May. He frequents a school in Gruberik, where it appears he met one of his friends early in his life, Torma. the grandchild of an infamous local inventor. He's also friend of an aspiring magician called Rami. Early on his life, Eldin witnessed his father leaving, and it seems this was the reason that made him aspire to become a Hunter, perhaps because he knew he would eventually meet him once he became one. He likes tall places, and seems to have a liking for romance stories, and tasty food.

True Background[]

SPOILERS ENCLOSED! Click "show" to reveal, otherwise skip to the following section.
Eldin is in truth grandchild of the Elder of Eristol, meaning he carries royal Ancient blood; thing which seems to have caught the eye of Ragule, who sorely needed this type of blood to open the way to the sanctuary of Bastaam. A victim from the war against the powerthirsty Odin, Eldin was spared and sent to a different timeline through a Time Portal located in the Labyrinth of Eristol. Though not stated, it is implied Eldin was the last hope of Eristol to fix the disaster caused by Odin and the Beast. It seems Eldin was found shortly after Rand had started his expedition to Eristol, and then, pitying him, Rand decided to adopt the child.
Spoiler ends here.

Story[]

Start of the Journey[]

Having witnessed his father's departure, Eldin grows eager to become a Hunter. The years pass, and the boy and his friend, Torma, prepare for the day to apply for a Hunter license. A lazy morning as usual, the boy awakes earlier than usual and drags his friend away from the bed's grasp. As the tradition dictates, the boy and his friend are gifted with unique mantles by his mother, May. Armed with the protection of the traditional mantle, the young boy and his friend leave towards the castle of Parcelyte. Greeted by the king and their old friend, Bata, Eldin and Torma are assigned with reaching the ruinous basement of the castle to find a special coffin that contained a scripture; their task is to read and memorize the ancient text. Reading: "When the ancient sunken city awakens from its long slumber, the path to the holy land will open." the boy returns to the king and fulfills the task, earning his long-awaited Hunter license. Turned into Hunters, Eldin and his friend decide to visit the Ancient Cave of Gruberik, a place rumored to hold all sorts of ancient relics. Sadly, finding the Cave is down for maintenance, they decide to stroll around the town, eventually running into a girl who had been robbed of something. Rubius, a young priest from Nazare, begs them for help to recover a stolen artifact. While Torma takes the girl to rest, Eldin chases the thief into a ship of pirates. Failing to find the artifact, but learning it has been sold to an auction house, the boy returns to regroup and plan his next step.

After a series of mishaps, the boy manages to recover the artifact, a stone with markings, and is now appointed to become the guard of the priestess girl. Waving goodbye to Gruberik and Torma, Eldin now departs to escort Rubius to the Tower of Guidance, near the desert town of Karnack. Soon, Eldin will find himself put into a struggle against a mysterious foe, learning the marked stone was part of a series of relics that conceiled something special. Eventually, the Boy regroups with his old friends and even encounters new allies along the way. With a new objective, Eldin begins to spin a tale of his own, and starts a great adventure to unseal the way to the Holy Land, and to foil the ambitions of the mysterious Ragule and the conquering armies of Gratze.

Into the Past[]

At long last, with only a singular relic remaining to find, Eldin and his party are instructed to find Gratze's Royal Ring to raise the ancient city of Eristol. As the city is raised from the depths of the sea, the boy steels to dwindle into the past of Northland, ignorant of the fateful encounter he was about to experience...

Eldin reaches the prehistoric Northland through a mysterious vortex found in the depths of Eristol, arriving to the village of Rangoon. An amazing sight to behold, the boy and his party reach the capital of the Kingdom of Eristol and learn of the existence of the mastermind behind the creation of the feared Beast, the creature pursued by Gratze and Ragule. A familiar face is encountered, perhaps too familiar; a young woman tells Eldin about Odin, the king of Eristol, who had been abusing of his liberties by conducting experiments in the Labyrinth of Eristol, in search for the ultimate power. Still a harsh way to go, Eldin waves goodbye to the mysterious young woman, to obtain the missing relic, and to face the man himself.

Dual Halves[]

With all relics at hand, the young boy and his party ready to unseal the way to the Holy Land... However, the arrogant Ragule sneaks and strikes them, claiming for himself the entrance to the Holy Land, in place of the heroes. Recognizing the inability to defeat Ragule, Rubius suggests to unseal the other half of the Beast at Nazare. The fateful hour approaches, as Eldin reclaims his birthright by absorbing the power of the wicked Beast. The group reaches for the Tower of Guidance and travel to the ancient sanctuary of Eristol: the Holy Land of Bastaam. Far away from Earth, Eldin learns of his true origins and of the struggle of his people: the Beast's power was too great, and it had to be sealed away until it waned; however, a single child was spared of the chaos and sent to a different time, for there was no reason for him to attone for the crimes of Eristol and of its king. With a resolve of steel, the way opens for the one who was meant to stop the rage of the Beast and its creator, Eldin.

Beyond the Earth, Eldin and his party reach an archaic sanctuary of glass, home to the soul of Odin. Awaiting for them was in the end, Ragule, atop an altar, atop Earth herself. The arrogant man is fought; Nazare and Eristol fight, as the two halves of the Beast encounter for the first time since the defeat of Odin. The arrogant man is put a swift end, but as soon as he collapses, his body reanimated, morphs into an unspeakable monstrosity; Goldiark is thus reborn at last, alongside Odin, Lord of the Beast. The long struggle nighs an end, as Eldin conquers his fears and deals a devastating blow to the Beast, letting the soul of its creator be sent to oblivion. Soulless, and a husk, the Beast attempts to absorb Eldin. A long goodbye ensues, as Irmis removes the Beast's half from Eldin, joining with her twin, Rubius, to seal away the remnants of the foul creature, for all eternity.

Eldin returns to home, having lived the great adventure he dearly longed for. Reunited with his father at last, Eldin remains the same cheerful boy as ever. and together decide to give the Ancient Cave a try; after all, maintenance had been finished after such a long while of adventuring. The power of the gods had indeed brought them the road to prosperity, just as it did to all the new Northland...
